Mercedes S-class interior Facebook logoA study by the Social Media Statistics provider, Socials Bakers, reveals how car brands rank on Facebook. The research shows the ranking in number of fans. Here is the list:

The top 10 car brands by Number of Fans in November 2014 are:

  •  Mercedes-Benz – 17 221 958
  • Ferrari – 16 468 211
  •  Nitto Tire – 11 592 669
  •  Lamborghini – 11 248 118
  •  Nissan – 11 221 427
  •  Porsche – 9 724 575
  •  Audi USA – 9 463 131
  •  Ford Mustang – 8 193 049
  • 10  Land Rover – 7 823 585

Having a large number of fans is one thing, but just as important or even more important is the engagement level. The engagement rate gives a more accurate picture of what is happening on your page and with your brand.You can accuse me of jumping to a conclusion, but in essence high engagement means that the brand is doing well.

Research among FMCG – food brands found that market-leading brands with very high numbers of fans/followers have to work proportionally harder to engage them at the same rate. If you look the engagement rates found in the statistics of Social Bakers this might apply also to car brands.
